I'm building a small 50 gallon pond out of a stock tank to put in my garden. It's a bit away from any power outlets so ideally I'd like to put in a solar powered pump.

I realize it's limited in that it wolnt pump at night that way, but that's ok because I also want it to be a pond for mosquitos to lay in and get eaten by some gold fish. Most of the solar pumps I've seen though have reviewes saying they not only go out at night, but anytime a small cloud goes by.

Started looking at pumps that I should be able to hook up to a 12v rechargeable battery then charge the battery with a solar panel like I've done for deer feeders.

Any recommendations? Success stories with similar projects? Things to avoid?

Thanks in advance.

You may be disapointed in the fish eating mosquito's .Mostly frogs eat them not fish
