Hi Frankie here from the UK,
i just built a pond in my garden last year and have stocked it with goldfish, shabunkin, orfs and commets. i lost 2 females this year due to them not being able to release there eggs, being new to this i was taken by surprise. i will attach some pics of how the pond took shape. hope everyone likes it.

Frankie.

Love it, great shape. That big round end is perfect, I wish I could have talked my wife into a few more feet at my fat end like that. Great job.

Glad you like it it never started out to be as big i just got carried away when
I was digging . Took me 2 weeks to dig the hole i then lined it with carpet before
I put the pond liner on.

I laid mine out with garden hose, and it looked good, but then I thought, what if I do another foot here, and 6 inches there, and it ended up being 14x22. My wife flipped out. I said I wanted to dig a bigger pond, but my old pond was only 100 gallons, so any pond is going to be bigger, she assumed I meant 500 or 600 gallons. Plus the depth freaked her out, she didn't know I was going to 4 feet. I also made some changes as I dug, made one corner a bit smaller ,so to make up for it I enlarged the skinny end by about 100%. Dug out a bunch of dirt to make the skinny end not so skinny. My pond ended up being 3500 gallons.

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing about yours. I think both of our ponds look bigger in photos than they are in reality. I think mine looks positively tiny in photos, but yours looks huge. Must be an optical illusion or something.

Thanks addy 1
Got the rocks from a local garden centre here in the uk.
I was quoted £9-10,000 for someone to do it for me but i managed myself for
£2,000. I suppose they may have made a better job , but my wife and me think its great.
