My fish ate the Hyacinths....it's what they do so I went another direction with a pair of floating rings and plants in them. Once they were in the pond, I began to wonder if the fertilizers they put on them could leach into the pond water and cause the fish distress. I told the lady at the store that I had fish but I know that doesn't mean she heard me or knows anything about fish and fertilizers. Should I be concerned about this?

Here's the link to the pic of it.

The ferts shouldn't hurt the fish, but if they used pesticides on the plants that might be another story. I'd just rinse the plants off really well before putting them in your pond, if you didn't do that already.

I've you're really worried about them, you could always use Potassium Permanganate or a veggie wash like Fit (we use this to wash all our fruit before eating) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E5DZQQ...e=asn&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B001E5DZQQ to clean them off first.
