Planter rings for potted flowers?

I've seen youtube videos with potted flowers floating in a pond. anyone do this and what did they use? weedblock material? what kind of potting mix

I would think you would want to stick with pea gravel, kitty litter. I had a barley straw planter, with the plant in pea gravel it did well

you figure there would have to be sufficient number of fish to provide the nutrients all those plants needed to grow. unless they were supplemented with some addtl fertilizer.

Very interesting addy about the Rockwool............can cause ph changes and harmful to peeps lungs. The flowers and crops are sooooooooooo neatly arranged in that video that it's almost unbelievable B)

Well jw you are not supposed to smoke it! Just plant things in it lol, I have used it to get seeds started, it is great for hydroponics, no clue how it would do in a pond.
