just a few shots of ponds progress, waterfall is not done but you can see..just afew plants and its disappearing. i will paint the white pvc black fill the tub with water hiacynths, and parrots feather. will look vey low profile and very natural, hopefully very soon. if weather permits. the river rock is going to be pulled back towards the pond to about a 15 to 18" ring as shown in last picture. scattered boulders and lots of greenery. planting is already begun.

now i'm on hold again... its raining today and tommorrow, and guess what, its supposed to snow on sunday. "I HATE MICHIGAN WEATHER!!!" anyways ive decided to use decomposed granite ontop of weed cloth as the outer ring of ground cover around the plants to the stone border.(the dirt area) the granite is an off golden tan color. more plants going in first.

I really like this. (the mulch border) My pond is currently sort of close to an above ground pool, and the pool has an area around it bordered with a plastic decorative wall, (not sure what you'd call it) but then it's filled in with gravel. I was considering sort of connecting the pond, and surrounding it also with gravel. But seeing this i definitely like the mulch with the inner border of river rock.

And yes, I have considered the dangers of the chlorinated pool being so close, but older people are the only people swimming in it, and all have been properly informed not to splash, lol.

a little more progress, waters very cold, yard overly muddy from rain and melted snow...got another 3/4 ton of rock by my front curb to move. nice flow on the falls tho. this is a 1900gph pump, good aeration. still a ways to go tho. i'll pump out this water i guess and that way i can work on the falls. my lillies are coming around, some leafs are up 2 to 4" from rhyzome

cleaned out all the mud and clay residue from pond, cleaned up nice. i repotted some lillies, dechlorinated water added some bacteria, barley extract, and pond dye to help control algea untill i pump out 1/2 the water in pond and pump in water from basement pond, put my active filter media in this filter and put my fish in. returned the 1900 gph pump and put a 1200gph pump in this allows about 3&1/2 minutes in filter as opposed to 2&1/3 minutes. plus still has a decent looking falls. will put in my 1000 gph pump directly into the falls for when we want a stronger look. for now im done.
P.S. man that water was cold!!!
P.S.S. sorry i take such crappy pix.
