Hi,
I had my lower pond redone. They redid the waterfalls completely and changed the filter system from one in the lower pond to an outside pressurized filter. There was a lot of rock cutting so powder was everywhere. Its been 5 days though and the water isn't clear. Before I always had crystal clear water. The new pressurized filter is an CPF-2000 Pressurized Pond Filter.
Here are some pics.

Have you tried letting the water run through some quilt batting to catch the really fine stuff?

just put it in a basket under the water flow and clean often .I use it in both my filters to pick up fine stuff all the time and it keeps the water clear .I clean it good with a hose and put it back in for reuse .It is always in my basket .I put a course filter ontop to pick up the big stuff and the quilt batting under it

quilt batting does the same and cheaper and after a couple of rinses ,I let it dry out pull it apart and birds and squirrels love you for there nice warm nesting material .I have a one eyed owl that lives in a tree behind my house and he takes as much as he can get and looking at his nest he must be snuggly warm and dry .
