Pontederia Lanceolata - dead???

I bought this plant last year. Over winter algae has overtaken the pond and the plants. Is this plant beyond rescue. Or if I repot it does it have a chance? Anything I can do to revive it.

Mine looks like that this time of year , freezes and comes back just fine. Re-pot and it should be fine. Mine are in pots about 3 gallon in size.
