I'm in zone 6b and my rosey reds survive every winter
glad i never tried rosey reds, i too am 6b and the first year i put in some minnows only some mature minnows survived i believe it was 8, and i ended up with several hundred. this year is much colder im hoping none survive. the first year i had a couple thousand due to not having any predators

Yes - mine also survive. They must have had a predator this last summer that drastically reduced their numbers though. I’m thinking it may have been the bullfrogs.

Does anyone in Northern Virginia or Maryland have any rosy red minnow to share? I would love to have some in my pond, but am afraid of introducing disease with the feeder fish.
