I have a creek that's about 12' long. My pump is 600gph. I can make it up to 4' wide with the liner I have. It is partially under a redbud tree so it will accumulate quite a bit of flowers and leaves. I'm leaning towards going narrower to flush debris into the pond and intake bay. No idea on pond size yet, still thinking about that.

were it my stream-pond-intake bay, I'd not be looking to flush any more toward the latter two than humanly possible. Easier to clean a stream than pond, imo. I'd be looking for a pump though, that can give you either fast flow or slow, but for esthetics. The wider, the slower the flow, and you may end up getting more/a larger pump.

Just my 2 cents!

Faster flowing areas are the first to show string algae.

Fast flowing streams that maneuver between rocks with some white water are far more interesting then is a wide deeper area but the fish can use that area to swim in to.

Both have there advantages
