One of The commonly favorite areas of my pond was actualy making the best out of excess liner.
When I built the pond I didnt want rectangular or commonly round as they look man made and that was the last thing I wanted to create.

So with the odd shape i designed i had two areas with excessive liner. One was used to make a more natural bog no upflow no matrix blocks just a flooded zone for some pitcher plants and Sun dews.

The pitchers have always done well but never get as tall as I have seen them online. last year there were 11 flowers this year only 4 out of probaly 30 plants.

But the sun dews have exploded this year. They ones i have are native to the area. And between the two its an incredibly unique area.

I am way behind on weeding as i had to do a treatment for the fish so i had to stay out.

That is a really dense stand of pitchers...well done.

I'm new at growing them and Sun Dews and bladderworts/butterworts. I have been encouraged by progress thus far and hope to have such a dense stand someday.

Curious how long has it taken to get to this point for you? Did you start with a few or many pitchers?

Maybe 8 plants were bought i dont remember as it was 1 here 2 there. The liver wart as we call it here is probably what your calling bladder wart i absolutely love the stuff, the flowers it puts out that are year round look like alien umbrellas. The attached video is of the pond but a bit closer up than usual expecialy the pitcher bog. Unfortunately looks like i damaged one of the flowers last night while i was weeding. But i think youll like anyways

Yes, they definitely prefer low ph down to about 4.5 which I easily accommodate. I'm going to give seeds a try to see if I can speed things up a bit.
