Today I found a couple strands of white eggs that I know are from my koi . I did not want to leave them in the pond so I took them out and placed them in a large lotus planter. My question , will they hatch in that planter on their own ?

Koi eggs don't really come in "strands". They are just a crap-ton of individual eggs stuck all over the surfaces in the pond. Could they be from some frog or toad?Today I found a couple strands of white eggs that I know are from my koi . Exactly what I was thinking! Bet they are toad eggs!Koi eggs don't really come in "strands". They are just a crap-ton of individual eggs stuck all over the surfaces in the pond. Could they be from some frog or toad?
Could be frog eggs . Definitely not toad eggs , I know what they are a slimy mess.Koi eggs don't really come in "strands". They are just a crap-ton of individual eggs stuck all over the surfaces in the pond. Could they be from some frog or toad?

I live in Md. They look like a clear noodle with clear looking eggs every 1/4 to 1/2" apart. I have had small koi fry in the pond occasionally but never actually saw the eggs . I do have a green frog in there, maybe their eggs.Where do you live? Different locations = different critters = different eggs. Got any pictures of them?

Those frog eggs look like Pickerel or Wood frog to me. Wood frogs definitely wouldn't be spawning this time of year. Pickerel is a possibility, but they usually spawn earlier in the Spring.Hello fellow Marylander.
Per Google and own experience they are toad eggs. Caption is reversed. Toad on left, frog eggs on right.

I will try to get a pic of them.Hello fellow Marylander.
