I have a small fish pond, just wondering if this type of garden hose filter is suitable for when I top up my pond with tap water.

Some folks use those. Just the chlorine you are concerned about? Does it say how long it works for?

For topping off, I trickle in direct from the garden hose, I do not treat the water since it keeps chlorine concentration minimal and also prevents temp change from colder hose water. Large quantities of water in a short time period, I use a liquid dechlorinator.

I guess it's just the chlorine im concerned about, or whatever else is in the tap water. Usually it's just a bit of a top up I am doing , maybe 3 or 4 inches, pond is 8ft by 2ft and 4 ft deep. Im probably fine just doing what I have been doing i guess

After having destroyed all my fish by accidentally running a hose on city water overnight  I can tell you, the threat is real. So I now have a 100 gallon tub that I use to store water for topping off. I no longer use "Prime" to treat it, but I allow it to dissipate for 24-48 hours before I use it. The internet told me that works but I'm sure the folks here would know how accurate that info was. Good luck.
