This is the pond My hubby built me this past spring .. We used 4 x 6's x 6 ft and 8 ft ..... We used gorilla glue and 8 > 8 in bolts to screw each layer together and each layer is bolted together using 2 >10 in bolts in each corner ... we laid several layers of clear plastic on the ground inside where we dug out below ground level a deeper 'pool' , then we laid out carpet padding and then the pool liner , which is held in place on the top with 2 x 6's ... it is approximately 1000 gallons ..
I finished building the bog box yesterday ,, the fish seem to like the waterfall :goldfish:
The bog box is made from 2 x 12's bought a 12ft cut in half and a 10 ft to cut the other 6ft and the 2 14in sides ,,, I used scrap 2 x 4's for the 'feet' and used 3 inch deck screws to screw it together .. had the liner left over from building the pond ... used 2 inch pvc pipe 2 > 2 in elbows and 1 cap ... I used a skill saw to cut slots about 6 inches apart on the bottom of the pipe . I used 1 bag of the medium river rock to first cover the pipe and 8 bags of pea gravel to fill the box . Still have to plant a few more plants in the box .
I made the 'equipment' box to protect the UV light and hide all the cords .. it is mounted on one of the 4 x 4 post the 8ft x 8ft lattice roof is mounted on over the pond .... > the lattice itself is not enough shade here in NC I had to add a tarp over the lattice to give the pond more 'solid' shade.
One picture of my fish that I have now ..
The last picture is of my pond right after we built it , you can see the bottom pretty clearly and if it posts clear enough you can see where the lower portion is dug deeper than ground level ..
