Saw this storage container at Walmart for$20. and thought pond filter! Drilled 25-30 1/4" holes in the top 2 drawers
Cut a 8" slit in the front bottom edge of the bottom box for water return. 12 1/2" pieces of scrap pvc pipe. Plastic light grid from Lowes- $13. Cut 3 pieces to fit in the bottom of drawers. Place pvc rings in drawers and top with grid Fill with whatever type of filter material you want to use. I have window screen in the top, blue furnace filter in middle and quilt batting in the bottom. I drilled a hole in the top for the water supply line and am running 620gph pump. So far so good but it will need to be cleaned soon. Pull drawers out, clean and slid back in!

Thanks guys- always thinking pond stuff and I have a lot of floating stuff in one pond and quilt batting has to be cleaned hourly! This pulls it out in layers for easier cleanup. May switch to lava rock in one level to act as a biofilter as well.
