Greetings to the forum. My son Dane and I are creating a home for our small painter turtle to bask in the sun during the spring to fall period. I have purchased a Beckett 210 gph,8 by 10 ft liner kit and am now in the design phase and would appreciate any feedback. The concept will be a small raised pond that will be fed by my down spout. Currently I have a riverrock bed off the down spout which will lead to the pond, I hope to have the pond pump the water back up to the top and have it on a continual run down the riverrock into the pond it self. The pond will have small over flow holes if we have to much rain. My question are can the riverrock bed the water is running down become a bog if I have the correct plants? Do I need to further filter the water? I the Beckett system with a 210gph pump adequate? All feedback is appreciated . Thanks

glad you joined!

You could add some small depressions in the riverrock bed to hold the plants, they will become a good biofiltration.
