A couple of days ago my water lily, in a dishpan, slid off it's shelf to the bottom of the pond. I figured I must have nudged it when I added fertilizer. But apparently, it was from this guy cruising around in there. I don't know if it could have found a way out on it's own so I gave it a little boost with a net. Then I escorted it to the gate and said bye. So I guess I now have to plan for future visits and need to provide an exit strategy?

Then I discovered that this Chonk found it's way around last night. I hope it does not make a practice of visiting. I know they're around but have only seen them in the fence a couple of times. I try to keep it uninteresting for them -- no food crumbs etc.

Glad you released the turtle . It appears to be an Eastern Box Turtle and they don't live in water, so without a way to get out, it could drown.

That's what I was afraid of. I will have to see if I can devise an escape plan for the future. Thanks.

Thanks for that - BAD crowded?? I only have one! Should I do something for it??
You can remove some of the older leaves. Also take out of the pond, check how many tubers are growing, remove some of them.

When leaves start sticking out of the water = crowded
