I have not had any hyacinths bloom for years.
I think there's plenty of nutrients in the water.
The only thing I can think of is not enough direct sun.
They are different plants every year, so I don't think it's a matter of certain "strains" blooming and some others not.

I don't know how true this is, but I read where water hyacinths like a ph of 7 or lower to bloom. When mine bloomed the ph in my pond was 7-7.5. Now that the ph in the pond is around 8 they don't bloom for me. So maybe it is true

My ph sits in the 7.5 or lower area. Depends if it rained, if I add water it moves around a bit. Our well is 5.3.
So maybe that is a real help, full sun and low ph water.
