Wife bought a water Lilly for our small pond. We’ve never had one before. I understand people put them on a shelf and then for winter they lower them to the bottom of the pond. So....I didn’t build enough shelves in my pond. Half of it is only about 3.5 feet deep. Could I just put the Lilly pot there and leave it year round? I’m in Iowa. I thought of putting it on a milk crate, but with the depth so shallow maybe I don’t need to bother?

My lilies are from 12inches to 3 feet under the water surface. The only ones I move for winter are any that are less than 12 inches deep.
