Earlier this year I collected seeds from several 'Blue' waterlilies. They all look purple to me. I want to see a BLUE waterlily. I know its not logical to cross two purple lilies and expect blue offspring, but it could happen. The first seedling bloomed today. I wasn't home so Pauline took a pic. It's not blue ,but it looks pretty good anyway. I'll add new pics as the new seedlings open their first blooms.

Another beautiful photo. Gosh they look like they should have a nice smell to them but nope I guess nobody can make that happen yet.

JW, I havent smelled any of the seedling flowers, but their parents are fragrant, so the seedlings should be also.
Baeya, here are some pics of all the blue parents.

Blue Beauty
Blue Capensis
Blue Spider
Caerulea
Director Moore

All of these flowers look blue in pictures, but in person they look purple or lavender. There are many more seedlings to come. A pure blue one might show up.
