More owl hijinks this morning - the pair sat in the trees before dawn and coo'd to each other then one popped over to look for an aquatic snack before bedtime. It never actually caught anything today but it sure looked cute trying to catch one with it's talons underwater :p feet don't fail me now

That one remaining goldfish must have been in shock

They have found their own private sushi bar. Self service.
As long as fresh delivery continues to occur.

Yep, it seems to be one of their rounds alright. I still haven't restocked the lotus tub yet. She (?) seems to make this her last stop before bedtime. Again today...

so i lost like a half dozen smallish fish last year. i'm starting to question if a red tail hawk is responsible. they were all under 8" so im starting to think the reason only small ones vanished might be because it knows it can't lift anything larger. he did get a good sized bull frog which i was surprised to ass as we are only 45 digress today

Well she predictably stopped by at dusk to see what was available. She must have spotted the new fishies but all she could catch was a stick.

Never have I ever seen a duck in a tree o_O

Wood ducks often land in trees, and they nest in holes in trees! I think this might be the first time I've actually seen one in a tree in person. I can't be sure.
