Adding a bog filter to existing pond/waterfall

Can a bog filter be placed at the top of my waterfall or does it need to be close to the pond?

tHE BOG IS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT PLACED AT THE TOP and the water drops out making a waterfall . if you want one pump if you want two falls it can be one pump with a splitter on the plumbing line /. or two pumps can be used
