Having a leaking problem with a drain for my stock tank. Wondering if anyone has used these and if they are recommended. Thanks.

I've got a leak in my drain for my stock tank filter. Have yet to "officially" star tit up.ANd was wondering if anyone has ever used these Uniseals in any application. My other option is to pull the drains and order 3" bulkheads (@$20 each). These uniseals are priced at half to 2/3 the cost. So.....I wondered if they are a reasonable replacement.

Is that seal like a rubber gasket that you just push the pipe into ?
I have read good things about it but never tried it ..

i think they would work ,they are suppose to take a little deflection also
i am sure they have a exact hole size for each size pipe

you also need to use a sealant like P&L Roofing Sealer (Home Deppot/Lowes). Use gloves and push it deep into the crevices with a finger. It creates a nice tight seal to prevent leaks.

just so you know, P&L is perfectly safe for fish. That's what us ponders use. I have called the company myself to verify. But, yes, you can use whatever you want. The P&L will be cheaper and the good thing about it is that if you screw it up, once it dries it can be peeled right off. Once I didn't properly sit my conduit connector to my barrel and I had a tiny leak. I was able to fully remove the P&L in one easy stroke, refit the conduit and then lather on some more P&L and it was perfect. Had i used something else, I would not have been able to remove the goop so easily or at all.

Thats great! Its cheaper than that silicone, too. Thanks for the info on that stuff, I was always under the assumption that it was bad, so, again, thanks. I think I'll pick some up; today since I'm in the middle of a pond"renovation"

I have used the uniseals many times. The only problem I had was large dia pipes are a bear to get through them.

Hmm.. thanks koikeeper, but I just hate waiting for deliveries when I order on line!
Holes are dug, waiting patiently for fittings to be delivered, and hoping I will get some enjoyment out of my pond before snow flies! There is no source for bulkheads that I can find around my area.
