barley?

i brought barley at the pet store and its in a small netting and currently floating around my pond.

i was wondering how long does it last? the direction say take it out when it sinks as it can become detrimental.

peroxide is a by product of barley and you could by a dollar bottle of peroxide and be done .

Doesn't work, never will. Besides which algae is good for your pond. It takes up nutrients. Removing them is like removing waste products from your pond.
