Find it's spot, one person get in front of him and shine a BRIGHT light just before the person behind it grabs it. When the light hits them they freeze for just a minute and the person behind can grab it very quickly, Grab hard you won't hurt it but they are strong and you may only get one chance. another thing you can do is use a net, same thing one shine the light the other holds the net and get ready, poke him in the butt and he will jump straight forward swoop in up in the net, got to be quick, they can jump out of the net pretty fast too! Talking to a Redass here, half Redneck half coonass.! LOL Caught my fair share of those buggers, BTW, BB guns work too but DON'T shoot a hole in your liner! I like the live removal better.

Hey, Fishin', you're showing your redneck traits. Shining deer works a lot like shining bullfrogs. Next thing we know, you'll be telling folks to catfish with a washing machine motor and a net!

Shining frogs is a legal season here, shining deer is very illeagal. I'm not going to prison for shining deer. As for the washing machine motor and a net, Done that many times too, Doing fish counts for the Army corp of Engineers. Only I think we used a maytag motor.....lol and we had permits from the Game and Fish to do that, actually did some close to you on Santee Cooper Lake.
