What is that inside of the holes? Is it eggs?

That is the membrane of the cell behind, they build on both sides. The darker streaks here and there is just additional wax, I held it up to a light to get the photo.

They sure are and so neat to see all that they do when we go into the hive

Our two new nucs arrived, my neighbors installed them for us since we are out of commission currently. I put stripes on the two new boxes to help the bees with drifting, they can get confused as to which box to go into. Then the guard bees might kill them. The hive on the right is the first nuc with a second brood box installed.

Their other favorite place, some string/ slimy stuff in the small preform, I leave it there just for them.

They sure do love it there. Glad you have lots of places they can get water especially when it gets blazing hot

Seen a yard w/ a bee set up on my walk a few weeks ago................... forgot to post it till today. Must have been chilly cuz that day they were not flying at all. Other times I have seen them all over the place.

I have always planted for the bees, butterflies, birds, bugs, critters.

It is paying off with our new bee hives, they have lots to eat
