Catfish molting???

Hi,
I am very new to all things fish....
So I got this catfish like 2-3 days ago.
The seller handled him wrong (with a net) and he got stuck in the net. So is what happens to his skin/eyes temporary or permanent? Is it a damage or a disease?
Please let me know. Right now he is blind

fungal? I don't think catfish shed... could be wrong though some types may shed.

It's a Raphael catfish. It looks like fungus. It could be stress related or injury related from the net. It could also be excess slime coat from the injuries from the net, but it looks more fungal to me.

I would remove that tropical catfish into a heated hospital tank and treat accordingly.
It does look like a fungal infection from poor water quality.
Test your pond water parameters.

May I ask exactly what the parameters are? What are you treating him with?

I measured yesterday and all was normal. I am completely new, so I went by what the strips said. Ph neutral, ammonia down etc. only thing is, I have hard water.
But he is dying. I am very upset.
Maybe the stress from moving.

Water temperature is also important.
How long has your pond been set up for?

Water temp around 70 but just started to get 93 outside, so I would say rising.
MitchM: how many tests can you do with the master test kit? My pond has been set up 1,5 weeks and I used all the bacteria, water conditioner etc that the pond experts in our pond store advised. But they were out of the testing kit, so I bought strips at petco!
