Here is a picture of my pond with the new floating plant rings and fertilized plants from Lowes. I'm concerned whether or not the fertilizer beads they put on these plants could harm my fish. I'll post a thread in the Koi forum too.

are you sure they are not just tiny polystyrene balls to lighten the soil ? is that an english ivy in one of them ? only if it is, it does show on the toxic list of plants for ponds

Thanks guys. The plants do have fertilizer beads on them. It is some kind of ivy but not English ivy. Perhaps I should replace it with something less questionable.

as far as i know its only english ivy that can be toxic to fish, having said that i do know of others that have grown it in there ponds i would see how it goes but you did say your fish had eat your other plants
