Agree with Liska, please check the internet and make sure they are snappers and not one of the many common water turtles.
I replied and posted the pic to the other poster but I believe it’s a common snapping turtle. Not the big alligator snappers

Looks like a common snapping turtle. Either way, you don’t want either one taking up residence in your pond.

Either species of snapping turtles are pretty distinct from other species of semi aquatic turtles.

Definitely a snapper. They make great turtle soup according to the restaurant I sold a bunch to when I was a boy. They have really long necks and can get you unless you hold them way back on shell. By the tail, you risk getting bit on the leg...speaking from experience.
