I ran my air pump , with four air stones, throughout the winter. I also used my deicer.

I hadn't seen the pictures of your pond before I posted earlier, obviously you have pond depth.
So is it ok to place the plants at the bottom of the pond during the fall and bring them up in the spring?

The salt suppressed all plant growth, ammonia and nitrates would have been unstable and done some gill damage leaving the fish in bad shape and stressed to cope with the usual stress of parasites, bacteria, Summer and Winter

No salt, more nitrate sucking plants, less fish will thrive...

I read the same, talal, until the second time lol.

Anyway, beautiful pond! I look in the filter and I dont see anyother biomedia other than the green pad? May be your biomedia is not enough for your fish load?

For the plants, as long as they are not freeze, they should be fine in the pond.

Your going to have to look at your filters work out what media your going to need and you want to give your filters a darn good clean I would also buy Microbe_lift PL filter pad innoculant gell and follow its instructions to the letter.
For future reference you really have to keep on top of filters.
Does your pond have a U/V-C , I think I can see the top of one in your filter unit if so I strongly suggest you put a new UV-C bulb in at what ever wattage you have for it ?
