My external pump is starting to act up. Specs below!
-A few days ago I noticed the following:
-Waterfall flow seems lower than usual.
-The pump's priming pot is no longer filling up to full capacity while running.
-Opening the priming pot for cleaning allows a lot of water to drain back down the intake line (the pump sits a foot above the water line) but in the past the spring valve has always minimized the backflow until now.
Should I suspect a faulty spring valve?
Specs:
Pond is 5 years old about 5,000 gallons including a short stream and a small bog.
Sequence 5800seq21 pump
Helix pond filter
Spring valve between filter and pump.
Waterfall is just a spillway box, no "biofilter"-type bucket.
