I've taken your advice and bought some alternative food for my fish, I fed some meal worms today..... oh dear me.....:jawdrop::) ive never seen my fish devour food that fast then hunt around for more :) happy fish. I've also started to add Montmorillonite clay to the pond and only after 8 days can see a difference in the water quality and its killing lots of algea which is blocking my filters......there's always a down side to everything

Cool and glad you found something to kill the algae. I've used kitty litter the 100% clay kind and that seems to help kill some algae's also.

Okay, I'm going to try this kitty litter. My pond seems to be growing algae out of control right now. I need to add in another bio filter.

And from the compost heap:-

Let me know how you get on with them please, it should be fun hearing how your fish did on these options , remember though feed only as a treat (y)

Good stuff, Dave. I, like Willo, took your advice on using powdered Monmorillonite clay as a pond additive. I'm really pleased with it's results as a flocculant and water polisher. The benefits to fish health and water chemistry are a great bonus. (y)
