Put them on Craigs List for a buck apiece. I sell about a 1000 every year. I still fill a trashcan a week with the excess.
Just don't throw 'em in any other body of water. Sell 'em or put 'em in the trash or compost pile.
That's exactly what my pond looks like since it is overtaken with the water lettuce. I lost all of it over the winter, bought 5 plants and now the entire pond is covered. I do like it in moderation. How do I keep some over the winter? Can I put in a tub in a greenhouse? Will it live without a pump?
I think you will need water moving to keep them over the winter. Also some fish to keep them nurished.
