Is there any way to do a temp. fix on that hole?
Since he installed the tank so close against the house it flooded the whole side to mud and 2ft of pond dropped. We checked the foundation worried of leaks and seem to be ok but I don't want to wake up to another mudslide. I'm going to be so stressed the next 2 days!

Don't you just love the little surprises that appear after buying a new home?:)
I wouldn't try to fix the tank. Buy a new one.
There have been many surprises I found with this house. Bahaha. :blackeye:

So the fish seem to be hanging around the aerator more this morning so I took the pump hose to the 2nd tank with the mesh and lava rock and used it to at least activate a waterfall and get some water moving. It worked til I realized the hose fell out and flooded the side of my house again. Omg! I caught it in time tho and placed 3 rocks to keep the hose in place. What a weekend. Hooray to my 6-Pack of beer.

Oh no...another mudslide, hopefully the rocks will hold it down. I'm sure it's helping with creation and movement. Have you ordered a new filter, or are you going to recreate from a new live stock tank?

The filter should be coming in tomorrow. The waterfall returning is helping a lot and for some odd reason.. The water looks cleaner???? All I did was move the intake hose into the bio stock tank since the waste tank cracked.

On top of that episode I got shot in the face full of bottom waste gunk. :yuck: Hose got clogged and had so much pressure it just shot out when I tried relieving it. I had to get escorted into house and hit the shower immediately. I think I'm done with skippy maintenance.. LOL.

Either way, I'm going to save some money and keep the existing pump and aerator if I can. I believe the current pump is a proline 3200. A filter with uv clarifier should show up tomorrow and I think we already have the 1-1/2" hose to connect.

Possible downside is that it may rain tomorrow, if so then I guess the filter will have to wait Tuesday.

Sadly for you its addictive ask anyone here and sadly skippy maintenance has to be carried out on a regular basis .
Before you go replacing things have you stripped the old filter down to brass tacks ?

The stock tank only had a couple of pvc pipes sticking out and 1 inlet hole which had to get unscrewed. It's sitting in my backyard right now.

The water might be clearer if that stock tank was chock full of waste...no point circulating water through that stuff!

Does anyone have a solution to mosquito control around ponds?
