Im guessing its a slug of some type and it must not need water as it started to crawl out of the net i caught it in. Is this harmful for my koi? I just got new plants could it have come in on them? hard to see this thing go through my pump as it was caked in string algae that water barly gets through it.

Slugs are my most feared critters................I know they can't hurt you but they just make me want to hurl whenever I get near one. We have lots of rain here and there are tons of the slimy beasts everywhere. We have huge banana slugs in our rain forests:

We used to run barefoot as kids here in maryland, would step on those slimy suckers, totally gross, but ours are a lot smaller than that jw...............

You can keep them!
