Are you finding the bodies or do they just disappear?

I think frogs and toads tend to wander, especially after big rains.

They just show up, then disappear, and then reappear in my pond.

I’m assuming @ian582 is finding bodies, but you raise a point that I’m always curious about. Frequently people will say “I have X number of frogs that live in my pond…” Like they STAY there? Ours come and go sometimes we have a dozen sometimes we have none.

Agree, with @GBBUDD if amphibians are dying your pond there is something going on with your water, they are sensitive To water quality.

They asked "do frogs go somewhere to die" which is what made me think they might have disappeared. If the frogs showed up and died they could have gotten poison or disease elsewhere and brought it back. I'd imagine every now and then a frog does die of old age. Yes check water parameters, and be aware of poison and fertilizer use near your pond.

i believe i may have found frog an answer to frog deaths. on close inspection i found that a frog was covered in small leeches. It seems there has been an increase in leeches this year. is there a safe way of reducing this leach problem ?
