This morning I saw a baby barn swallow sitting on the gutter and being fed by the parents. I grabbed the camera and step just outside the screen door. To my surprise the bird didn't fly away. I would have loved for better lighting but sometimes you have to take what you get.

I took about 30 and these were the best. I would have taken a lot more but my arms got tired of holding the camera. There were several minutes between feedings.

The baby helped me time the shots. It would start squawking and flapping as the parent was coming in so I knew to start shooting. I kept the camera focused on the baby and hoped for the best.

Times like this makes me want to get a better camera but the Kodak will do for now.

Hey you did great! It is not the camera, it is the person holding it that makes great pictures!

My daughter photographed another backyard resident. This is one of at least 3 kinds of lizards we have, this is an Anole lizard. It is growing its tail back, possible taken off by our cat.

I love those little Anole's. I used to keep some in a terrarium and feed them meal worms, also remember people buying them at fairs and carnivals when I was a kid. They were on little leashes pinned to their clothes..............poor little buggers :)
