Me either, I'm beginning to wonder if it would be a good investment though.

I wonder how effective they are at controlling parasites and bacteria?
I've never heard anything about their controlling parasites or bacteria, just suspended algae, but it is an interesting thought.

UV clarifiers only control planktonic algae. UV sterilizers will kill most pathogens, but will also kill the benign and benevolent organisms as well. The result is a pond with a severely crippled eco-system. Pathogenic bacteria and parasites are ubiquitous to all freshwater environments. They are opportunistic and are only a potential problem to fish with a compromised immune system. Healthy fish are not affected.

That is one thing I don't fight in the pond green water, the bog and plants keeps it gone.
