I agree with AllysaFish, probably genetics or diet, if water quality and stocking not an issue.

I have 4 koi and they're big, but not huge, and I've had them over 12 years.

Are you feeding the fish? At 7" I'm wondering if they are hybrids, part goldfish, part koi. I feed a color growth food and my 2 years olds are 18-20".
I thought about that, but I don't know enough about koi/goldfish hybrids to know what their growth is like.

I will try to get some pics. I believe they are koi though. I do feed them but maybe not enough as I try not to overfeed. I only have one huge one and he was rehomed to me by someone getting a divorce. I love them I just wish they were bigger.

hurry get pics before few of the members die in curioisity lol

how large is that portion of pond? swiming space is important in some cases .

main thing gene then variety then food then space and water quality/O2 if any factor higher or lower will effect growth .

That portion of the pond is probably 12 X24 and 3 to 4 foot deep.
