That's a bad tear there.
I agree, that doesn't look like an EPDM liner. Possibly HDRPE, but that's tough stuff too.
It appears its a cross between the two while epdm is solid epdm the liner that is in question here is a weave with epdm saturated . But from the site you provided they said it can be repaired in the same manner as epdm . Do you know how to do a seal ?

Not not really, have looked on line so have a basic idea. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks.

The best thing for you is there is no wrinkle that is a very good thing it makes it so much easier.

And don't be afraid to put a patch over a patch or even another patch over the patch thats patched the hole if your not confident in your work
