Over the post several months the liner that was excessively trimmed in the first place has now pulled too close to the waters edge in two spots. All I hope to do is prevent further movement while hopefully preventing the water from over flowing. I have a couple of ideas which may or may not be redneck engineering. So before heading in that direction I thought it wise to consult with those with true knowledge.

Exactly. Ideally you can roll and tuck the liner but we have a few "oops" spots where the liner stands straight up, back filled with dirt and gravel. And we used our cement-like clay from our yard just to make sure the "wall" behind the liner didn't soften up and sink. Five years later both spots are still rock hard. A nice plant or two flowing over the edge and I'm the only one who knows where my boo-boos are!

If you have clay around, that packs to a desired shape and provides long term stability to alter the water margins position
