very cool!

Slightly OT, but where do y'all get lotus? I looked and looked and looked this spring and summer, and none of the garden/pond shops sell lotus. I asked, and they all say that they're too expensive and too hard to propagate, which is why they don't sell them.

I've considered online, but it seems they sell and ship them as just a tuber, and I'm still really new at the whole plant thing...plus they're always sold out.

How deep is the water where you put it?

its on a 12" deep shelf. but i've read shallower is better. The tub its in is around 18x13 and 5" high. I've also read to keep them in a round container

I would be interested in how a cutting works with these. I am not familiar at all with them other than I saw millions of them in China and they were all huge.
