This is Year 5 for my Cyprio box filter. I just threw out the six foam filters (a pain to clean) and added more Matala pads and a single sheet of Wal-mart polyester fiberfill (the white stuff). In previous years, I added the row of Black Knight brushes and the bioballs which you see in the bottom chamber of the filter. The weird-looking plastic media on the right of the bio-chamber is the bio-media that came with the filter. They are over-sized to not clog up the discharge pipes.
I think I've maximized what can be stuffed into this old Cyprio Green Machine 2500. Matched with a Cyprio Titan 3650 pump, this combination filters 1,300 gallons per hour at the filter's head-height of 12 feet.
