This is what one of my brown ones turned to, lousy picture, but it sure colored up. Shiny gold color with black/brown outlined scales. Darn thing was camera shy, looking down on it, it almost looks like those koi with the scales that really show up.

You do realize that most goldfish are born brown and then change colour as they grow. Having said that, the ones in your hand look like some type of Dace, a "minnow" type of fish. John
