I did the same thing today figgy for awhile. So relaxing. Sure wish I would get some lily blooms soon tho. My goldfish were fighting over who gets to eat the little dead lily pad floating in the pond. They leave the new pads alone but any brown ones they think are a delicious treat.

I've found myself rescuing the little froglets from our cat several times over the last couple of evenings.
He spots them hopping around near the pond and starts trying to grab them with his paws.

No wonder he likes to nap close by the pond!

With the sound of that dramatic music it sounded like at any moment your cat would be making a move on a spied frog in the vicinity but if that would have happened I'm sure you would have been jumping right in there to protect the frog

Well Summer has almost gone and so too have the frogs and newts, which I suspect have hidden themselves away. I've thinned out the Eloda Crispa which was running riot and now await the leaves which will begin to fall soon.

It's been a good year really for wildlife really, especially discovering frogs, newts and a stickleback.

Looks beautiful Figgy. It is still really really hot where I am but I did notice the frogs seem to be hiding. Maybe they know fall is in the air and are making plans for it already.

Great job Figgy, leaves are changing here and some trees have dropped all of theirs already.

I love the progression of the little peanut! I just picked on up so my tadd's will not get eaten my the fish. I have to sink it in the ground next week and get it stocked for the winter. Mine came with 5 bullfrogs who quickly jumped out and into my big pond!

Tidy up time today. I cleared another load of elodea crispa out of the pond. I used to worry about pulling this out of the pond but it sure grows back before too long. As well as removing the fast growing crispa I spent a good few hours clearing up a load of leaves but no doubt there will be a load more waiting for me tomorrow.

Dont you just love Autumn.

I pulled hand fulls of the elodea and dumped them into the big pond to give the fish something to snack on over winter. In my stream ponds it stayed green most of the winter.

Man that pile of Elodea would be cherished here Figgy. If you lived close I'd come and pick it up from ya! I have some in my tub ponds but if I want a bunch I have to go hunting for it in the pond a few miles away. Your pond looks all nice and tidied up for the long winters sleep.
