Pretty cool in the post this morning arrived the AKCA manual of Koi nutrition well I call it book its more like a magazine really lol.
Fifteen pages of fantasic information, interestingly our article on Alternate foods covers much of what is written .
Feeding koi spagetti, Lemon and Banana are new ones on us I would have thought Lemon too tart for them to eat and Banana naturally high in Phosphates having much to much of it in them doing harm to them but it appears not.
one thing that did amaze me though is koi can get tooth decay "who would have thought it lol
Much of what we eat koi can eat just be sensible about things.

Also you could think about running a fertilizer and pesticide free compost heap as a steady source of free and alternate food throughout the summer months

Spaghetti for fish? I love it myself but never thought about feeding it to the fish.

And it is amazing that koi can get tooth decay. Now we don't only need a vet for the fish but a dentist too!

Cool my first book Christmas Present arrived today "The Illustrated guide to Fish Diseases, in ornamental, Tropical and pond fish".
It arrived better than described as used good try imacculate.
Val let me have a quick peak before she wrapped it, there are over 1,000 photos with symptoms and treatments .
The Illustrated Guide to koi for your pond a replacement for the wrong order with the right book (bio hassard) from the wrong order mine starting one number above the third number into my ordering code is coming from the US we can only hope that and another arrive before Christmas , it also coming from the US.
The other book is a guide to drugs and treatments in fish , weve been forced into buying a new book cabinet to take these extra books so it will be a jont one remaining unwrappped ( too much paper)lol
God I'm like a little kid lol cant wait for Christmas.
Heres a fun thing to try , to keep the magic of Christmas throughout the holidays open a present each per day ( wont work if you have children this one but try it anyway especially if there's just the two of you).........

I dont bloody believe it recieved another copy of the Completely illustrated Guide to koi in your pond decribed as used good only this time with rodent damage to the top of the book spine area this has totally ruined Christmas for us as it was to have been the main book out of three.
Again there was no returns so I cant send it back now I have another book to dispose of much to say I'm fuming with amazon books , I'd have thought the US seller to at least been true to his description of the book wouldnt you ?
I doubt whether its going to happen but I've told Amazon to send me a decent copy of this book out soonest free of any charge to me and they take thi up with the seller to give them the refund

Oh man, That really stinks Dave. I would be so mad too :censored:

Haven't had a chance to respond to your email yet. I will soon though :compute:
One more try again from the US this time we are buying new and hope the 10-12 day promise holds true we were discussing the odds of this happening not once but twice and we worked it out as akin to winning the lottery billions to one against.
I only hope that 2013's run of bad luck ends on the 31st of December and we can put everything bad thats happened this year behind us , break in , Suki dying, ill health, bad fall, my memory bendy frame glasses developed demetia and broke (attempt at humour there) :D
Today we heard of a biker friend messing himself up badly "maybe even life changing like my own accident" (strangely in another year ending in a three), not one but two Dr axelrod books of the same title both unfit as books one with black mould stuck together pages collapsed spine, this one with rodent damage and a risk to health through that "they urinate as they go spreading disease as they go".
Will keep you posted.

Two of the three books Val ordered for me have arrived and have been opened oh my what a treasure chest of fish Disease information with the second book being the Rosetta Stone Drug and Chemicals used in treatment of fish diseases with dose levels chemical make ups Antibiotics their uses of mesurements everything you need to know making it that much easier to comunicate between Profesional and Novice/Advanced "Senior Aquarist" level to just starting Aquarium or pond .
This is I can see it going to be invaluable to us in treating our fish and am looking forwards to a belated but New copy of the Dr Axelrod book weve had so much bad luck with.

Now we will be asking you all kinds of questions. You will be a specialist fish doctor when we need help. Better oil up those finger tips for when they need to walk through all those pages. Have fun w/ your new books :cheerful:
