Hi everyone. I have a small pond of approx 800 gals that we've had and loved for years and recently used a Tetra Bio-Pressure filter with UV light. Recently the light housing cracked and will no longer seal the unit and since Tetra will not offer a replacement for a three year old light I am forced to purchase a new filtration system. Certainly the new filter will not be a Tetra brand so I am trying to find some information about what others are using and what might be considered the "best, most reliable" brand on the market. Thanks in advance.

You can check the DIY section here as lots make their own filters and add the uv light separately.

have you looked on e-bay to see if someone is selling one for parts. You could build your own filter and save a lot of money if you want to do that it is easy .There are lots of kinds to build .Don't know much about those but have 2 in my basement that are not used and they are never going to be they just don't clean like they should .The best price around here is springdale water gardens in Greenville VA .Have you tried googling anything near you .I know there is a store in NC in Greensboro ,takes me about an hour to get there ,can't remember the name though and Aquascapes was in Graham NC 1874 NC Hwy.54 not sure it is still there

I currently have a savio filter falls a laguna filter falls and am in the process of building a bog. My suggestion would be if I was doing it over again would be to either build a bog if you have the space or build your own skippy filter which there are directions in the diy section here.

not too many folks will reccomend a pressure filter here anyways...but ive used tetrapond products for years. my 1200 gph pump quit on me and they sent me a 1900 gph pump 2 bags of food and some sludge removal pellets at no charge!...i have nothing but good things to say about Tetra-Pond and their products. i would however, build a filter ...theyre cheap..easy...and likely as, if not more efficient.
