welcome yep digging is always the hardest and then you look back and say it was all worth it and it does not seem so bad .I have dug bigger and deeper 4 times in 11 years so look what you have to look forward too .:)for some reason we want bigger or deeper .;)

Yes it was hard but as you say it was worth it.
I want to add photos to an album how do I do it please.

At the bottom of the page next to post reply is upload file you click that and it should allow you to go to your pictures and then click on 1 pic at a time and it will come back to this page and pic will upload in where ever the title is you are at .If you want to showcase your build just go to there and click to a add a new topic

You really did not need to brick or block it in if you are using a liner the water will hold the dirt back .Mine only has block on the top to raise it out of the ground about 2 or 3 ft

Hi Sissy thank you for your reply.
My pond is under a tree so as I dug out the soil around edges collapsed as I had some old bricks I decided to build a wall and backfill with soil this not only makes it stronger but will also stop tree roots penetrating and damaging my liner.

I used heavy 60 lb roofing felt on my pond last year and then pond underlayment and then liner and I sure hope that deters the moles that chewed my other liner .Understand that but seems tree roots will still head towards the damp soil .I know Lou on here had a problem with tree roots .

I hope the tree roots won't cause ant problems keep my fingers crossed.

lets all hope .Roots can be a real hassle .I had to help ponders here with removal of a shrub that's roots were poking out the side of the pond and lucky them they had not caused a hole yet
