New to ponds and plants

im having a water issue, from what I've been reading, it looks like I need some plants but I'm clueless about them. Any help would be great. It's about 700 gallons with a fountain filter (up to 500 gallons) and a canister type (up to 800 gallons). Nothing lining the bottom except for the liner. It does get a lot of sun ( most of the day)

Was crystal clear a few days ago and now it's brownish. Last year it turned deep green

I did just do a water change as well. 50%

With a test kit (API master test kit is best for this) test your water parameters.
Ammonia (parts per million)
Nitrite (parts per million)
Nitrate (parts per million)

welcome and number one do you have city water or well water and do you know the temperature of the water .Just buy a cheap huge one at a dollar store for now .Do you net the bottom to pick up stuff that falls in the pond .Do not overfeed the fish also .

City water but I have a good filter system on that as well. Not sure on the current temp of the water. No, I don't have a net on it or in it.
