I've got a couple of plastic milk crates in my little pond, held down by flagstones and potted plants. It gives the fish a quick safe place to hide if a blue heron visits for lunch. It hasn't saved them all, but at least the smart ones survive...

Welcome! and I don't see why not, as greg wittstock has said ( CEO of Aquascape ) "They are just glorified milk crates" but as we all know, sold for like triple the price :)

I use all kinds of plastic in my pond. Don't know why you can't use it in a bog too.
