Scale on water lilies

have enjoyed my water garden for 30 years. never any problems. for the last 2 years I have had scale and mites eating the pads. They are even on the stems. Has anyone else had this proble.?

No problems here. Have had aphids in the past tho. I just used the hose to wash them into the pond where the fish feasted on them.
